# Install a stack

> Set up a project in one command: combine agents, commands, skills, MCP servers, settings and hooks, from the aitmpl.com stack builder or by hand.

A stack is several components installed in one run. The CLI shows one plan, asks once where settings and hooks go, and reports each result.

## From aitmpl.com

1. Open [aitmpl.com](https://www.aitmpl.com) and add components to your stack with the **+** button on each card.
2. Open the stack panel and copy the generated command.
3. Run it in your project.

## By hand

```bash theme={null}
npx claude-code-templates@latest \
  --agent development-team/backend-architect,security/security-auditor \
  --command testing/generate-tests,security/security-audit \
  --skill development/test-driven-development \
  --mcp database/supabase \
  --setting statusline/context-monitor \
  --hook security/secret-scanner
```

Add `--dry-run` to see the files first, and `--yes` for a run without prompts (CI, scripts, agents).

## Ideas

| Goal | Stack |
| - | - |
| Safer reviews | `--agent security/security-auditor --command security/security-audit --hook security/secret-scanner --setting permissions/read-only-mode` |
| Test-first work | `--skill development/test-driven-development,development/systematic-debugging --command testing/generate-tests` |
| Better context | `--mcp devtools/context7 --setting statusline/context-monitor` |

## Install, then prompt

`--prompt` starts Claude Code with a prompt once the install finishes:

```bash theme={null}
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent security/security-auditor \
  --prompt "Use the security-auditor agent to review this repository"
```
