# Edit these docs

> How docs.aitmpl.com is built: the docs-site folder of the repository, local preview, generated snippets and the checks that keep it in sync with the CLI.

These docs are the [`docs-site/`](https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/main/docs-site) folder of the main repository, published by Mintlify on every push to `main`. Change them in the same pull request as the code they describe.

## Preview locally

```bash theme={null}
cd docs-site
npx mint dev            # http://localhost:3000
npx mint broken-links   # check internal links
```

## Generated snippets

Three tables come from the code and must not be edited by hand:

| Snippet | Source |
| - | - |
| `snippets/component-counts.mdx` | `dashboard/public/counts.json` |
| `snippets/cli-flags.mdx` | the CLI's `--help` |
| `snippets/removed-flags.mdx` | `cli-tool/src/removed-commands.js` |

Regenerate them after changing the CLI or the catalog:

```bash theme={null}
(cd cli-tool && npm ci)
python3 docs-site/scripts/generate_snippets.py
```

## Rules

* Every install example uses a real `category/name` path. CI checks each one against `cli-tool/components/`.
* Do not document a flag the CLI no longer has; link to [Removed in 1.31.0](https://docs.aitmpl.com/cli/removed-in-1-31.md) instead.
* Lead each page with what the reader can do, then the details. Short sentences, no marketing.
* Keep the colors, logo and fonts in `docs.json` and `style.css` in line with aitmpl.com (`dashboard/src/styles/global.css`).
